Worn Foundations - BRINK

Reflecting Newcastle’s post-industrial landscape, this work explores both decline and resilience. Four concrete slabs, imprinted with abstracted industrial imagery, bear the marks of passing footsteps, gradually cracking over time. Rather than erasing history, Worn Foundations honours its endurance—tracing the successes, struggles, and lasting imprint of industry on the North East.

Visitors were invited to walk across the slabs, becoming part of the work’s evolving narrative as the surface wears and shifts beneath them.
